Stro: The Michael D’Asaro Story
About Us
Doug Nichols
Producer - Director
After 25 years in Animation and Visual Effects working for studios like Pixar, Disney and Lucasfilm, filmmaker Doug Nichols embarked on an effort to preserve the history of his favorite sport – fencing. Creating the West Coast Fencing Archive, he began the exhaustive process of researching the people and personalities that exemplified this unique sport. Initially writing histories for web publication, the idea of translating some of these stories into film began to take shape in early 2016. He made his directorial debut with The Last Captain. Stro: The Michael D’Asaro Story is his sophmore effort.
